Bill to Recognize VT Abenaki is Far From Dead
Although I have been criticized by some for asking some tough questions about a move to recognize the Abenaki of Vermont, and some have accused me of being against recognition, I am not against such an idea. However, for me to support such an important bill I have wanted it to be a good bill. In my eyes the bill that came out of the senate was not my idea of a good bill. From what I understand from those working on the House bill they are moving ahead on a bill that, in their eyes, is far better than the senate bill. I’ll be interested in seeing it. I have been assured it will be a bill I can support.
