For the third time this year Vermont legislators are in mourning the loss of one of their friends and fellow legislators. Word quickly spread amongst the legislators, and other people who work in the State House, on Monday that Randolph Representative Jim Hutchinson had passed away.

The 60 year old representative, a Democrat from Randolph, served on the Appropriations Committee. Hutchinson was planning to seek a third term in the House.

Earlier this year legislature lost two Northeast Kingdom legislators – Cola Hudson of Lyndon, and David Clark of St. Johnsbury. Both Republicans, who were in their 80s, died of natural causes.

Funeral services for Representative Hutchinson are still in the works.

My sympathy is with Jim and his family
